Erasmus Policy Statement

The Conservatory of Danza “María de Ávila” in Madrid (CSDMA), is a public center integrated in the General Directorate of Universities and Higher Artistic Education of the Ministry of Science, Universities and innovation of the Community of Madrid. Three axes articulate its international strategy: mobility, international cooperation and international institutional culture.

Immersed in the European Higher Education Area, it`s mission is to provide students with an artistic education, through quality teaching, with the aim of training interpreters, choreographers and teachers in a deep knowledge of dance and humanistic matters. and scientists related to it.
We aspire to train professionals with a high level of ethical commitment, who stand out for their entrepreneurship and capacity and who contribute to the improvement of dance and society.

Participation in the Erasmus + Program is the main tool to achieve our objectives: internationalize and modernize our institution, integrate it into an innovative program and facilitate the future work that mobility offers our students and staff, develop international projects, make the system known Higher education of dance in Spain and share our dance heritage.

The action that we have been carrying out in previous years has been Action 1: learning mobility, for this reason it is our interest to continue participating in this same action, progressively increasing the number of study mobility, offering mobility to teachers and expanding to a future mobility of practices.

The CSDMA focuses its activity on the higher official training of Dance professionals, that is why, the incoming students will be able to enrich themselves by participating in the daily and formative life of our graduates in Dance Pedagogy, Choreography and Interpretation, as well as in the complementary activities and projects that our institution develops in the field of Educational and Community Dance in agreement with various institutions in this field.

  • Dissemination of information on the activities of the Erasmus + program to the entire educational community
  • Incorporation of the incoming participants in the training offered by the CSDMA and their integration into our culture.
  • Programming of activities with incoming teachers and informative meetings with mobility students.

The mobility and exchange programs contribute to achieving the objectives of our strategy since they allow modernization and internationalization at home, increasing multiculturalism and multilingualism in the academic environment, enriching people by supporting their professional, social and cultural growth, developing skills to improve their employability, opening bridges with Europe and the rest of the world to publicize our educational system and share our dance heritage, as well as to create bonds of union to collaboratively undertake international projects.

The increase in experiences and the ties established with other institutions will be proof of the sustainability and positive impact of this program for the achievement of our objectives, contributing to the enrichment and demonstration of our uniqueness and the employability of our students.

The outgoing mobility of the CSDMA will be increased throughout this new section, to strengthen our internationalization strategy by establishing ties and projects with other international institutions.
Indicative timetable:

In 2022 we intend to offer three student and three student mobilities.
In 2025 offer five student and six staff mobilities.
In 2027 achieve a significant increase in student and staff mobility flows.

The elaboration of databases of each one of the participations in the program will be essential to carry out the monitoring and quality control and implementation of the different mobilities, as well as the visibility of the results obtained.
